The Manfrotto 504HD fluid video head paired with the 546B aluminium twin-leg tripod is a reliable, professional video support kit available for hire from London Speaker Hire. Designed for interviews, corporate presentations and general video shoots, this stable system delivers smooth pans and tilts that stills tripods simply cannot match.

The Manfrotto 504HD features a fluid drag system for smooth movement across both pan and tilt axes, with variable resistance so you can dial in exactly the feel you need. A 75 mm half-ball allows quick levelling on both uneven terrain and smooth floors, and the mid-level spreader keeps leg angles rigid for solid grounding throughout the day. It features a 4-step counterbalance at 0, 2.5, 5 and 7.5 kg, helping you counterbalance equipment weight to help balance the camera. A quick-release plate facilitates fast camera attachment and balance, and the included pan bar lets you execute controlled, repeatable moves take after take.

Unlike a ball head, which locks into a fixed position for still photography, a fluid head uses internal resistance cartridges to provide smooth, controlled motion while you record. For controlled pans and tilts, the 504HD is the better choice. For locked-off stills or super lightweight travel work, a portable ball-head tripod like the Manfrotto Befree is a more practical option, available separately on request.

Choosing your setup

The 504HD is commonly used for DSLR and mirrorless setups. Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K and 6K Pro hire can be quoted separately. Let us know your exact camera model, whether it sits in a cage or has accessories like a big on-camera monitor, heavy batteries or a matte box, and we can confirm the kit is a good match.

Teleprompter suitability depends on the complete rig and its balance. Tell us the model and we will advise. The more detail you share about your shoot, the better we can help you build a complete package including cameras, sound and lighting.

Where can I get instructions, manuals and videos from?

Can you operate the equipment for me?

We are more than happy to set up the equipment for you. If you just want it connected we can provide this service or should you need a DJ or sound engineer for the entire event then we can assist with this.

We are able to provide service from a DJ all the way up to full production to a festival.

Can you set up or take down the equipment for me?

All the service are flexible and will be made to fit around your needs. Prices for a sound engineer start from as little as £20 per hour with deals for set periods of time.

Where can I get insurance from?

If you do not have insurance to cover your event then there are many organisations that can assist you with one off policies.

When requesting insurance please check your quote for the total equipment cover required.

Do I need insurance?

As part of our terms and conditions of hire you need to make sure that you have an insurance policy that covers you for the full replacement cost of equipment as per our Terms and Conditions.

Your quote will provide you with the total amount this comes to.

How do I pay by bank transfer?

If you would like to pay by bank transfer then please use the bank details listed on your quote.

It’s imperative that you use the quote number as your payment reference as there will be a delay in your booking confirmation if we do not have this.

Can I pay by cash or cheque?

Unfortunately we are unable to accept cheques or cash payments.

How can I pay for my hire?

To make it as easy as possible for you to pay, you can use our secure online payment system (which can be found here) any time of the day or night. This system allows you to pay by debit or credit card. Our secure payment processing partner is Square Payments.

What ID do I need for a business hire?

For corporate hires please speak to one of our team on 020 3333 4444 who will be happy to run through the requirements.

What ID do I need for a personal hire?

When hiring from London Speaker Hire you will need to provide three forms of identification.

The first ID must be a UK passport which will be held for the duration of the hire. The other two forms of ID needs to be a utility bill or bank statement with your name and address on it. Unfortunately we are unable to accept mobile phone bills.

These ID’s will be returned to you upon the return of the equipment.

When hiring equipment we will take a copy of your credit or debit card for authorisation (it will need to be in the same name as your identification). No money will be charged to it but a check will be run to make sure it is a valid card.

How do I make a booking?

Making a booking is a very simple process:

2) Complete the hire form which can be found here. To help us give you the best quote possible please make sure you include as much information as possible.

3) Sit back and relax! One of our friendly team will get back to you with a quote via e-mail. All you need to do is read through the quote and confirm that the information is correct and as required.

4) As soon as you have made the deposit payment to confirm you booking we will pop you over an e-mail to let you know the kit and services are reserved ready for you.
