What the Qu-3D Offers for Your Event

Allen & Heath’s Qu-3D pairs built-in Dante connectivity with a compact desktop format suited to London conferences, panel discussions and small live events. The mixer uses an 8+1 fader layout: eight channel strips plus a master, spread across six fader layers with assignable SoftKeys and a touchscreen. For a four-mic panel with walk-on music and playback, the operator has fast access to every source without paging through menus.

Processing runs on Allen & Heath’s XCVI engine at 96 kHz, providing digital mixing for live events and AV. The Qu series, which includes the Qu-16, Qu-24 and Qu-32 models, has a pedigree in digital mixing that the Qu-3D builds on directly. The manufacturer describes the Qu-3D as handling up to 36 inputs to mix (32 mono/linkable channels plus 2 stereo channels). That figure refers to the mixing engine’s capacity, not the number of physical XLR sockets on the rear panel.

Twelve mixes plus four matrix outputs give the operator separate sends for stage monitors, press feeds or overflow rooms without running out of buses. Six FX engines with dedicated stereo returns, a 32-channel Automatic Microphone Mixer, Feedback Assist and Gain Assist all sit inside the console. The Qu series supports USB recording and DAW integration, and Qu Apps enable remote setup and wireless mixing from a tablet.

Mixer-Only or a Compact Dante PA Package

You can hire the Qu-3D as a mixer only, or we can build a compact Dante-based PA package around it.

Mixer-only hire works well if your venue already has amplification, speakers and Dante infrastructure, and you just need the desk supplied and collected. Rental services from London Speaker Hire include delivery and collection options tailored to your schedule and venue access times.

For events where you need speakers too, we can pair the Qu-3D with our Martin Audio CDD-Live 12 powered speakers. Both support Dante, so the desk can send audio to the speakers over the network.

Because both the Qu-3D and CDD-LIVE 12 speak Dante, the audio signal travels digitally from desk to speaker. That means fewer analogue cables crossing busy rooms, a neater stage footprint, and enough power and headroom for Q&A microphones, walk-on music and video playback. For events needing deep bass or high volume, we can add powered subwoofers to extend the low-frequency response below 50 Hz.
